Samsung Overtakes Nokia to Become Number 1 Mobile Company with 25.4 % market share.

It was in 1998 , when Nokia overtook Motorola and got Top Rank in Mobile manufacturing and shipping arena.Nokia retained their number 1 position in Mobile manufacturing and market share for 14 years and Now South Korean Company , Samsung has beaten Nokia in terms of market share according to a report by research firm Strategy Analytics.
Strategy Analytics report revealed that Samsung shipped 93.5 Million handsets in the first quarter of 2012 while Nokia shipped 83 million mobiles sets during the same period.


What helped Samsung to Get number 1 market share !
Well the credit Goes to Samsung Galaxy phones that accounted for profit worth 4.5 billion. Galaxy phones became very popular since they were launched also Samsung has been very active in launching the new Galaxy versions and upgrades.

What made Nokia fall !!
Well it might be due to Symbian OS phones. People are getting attracted to Cheap androids by Samsung than Symbian by Nokia. However Nokia Lumia series  powered by Windows OS are very popular and featured among best smartphones.


 The stats below show the market share of the top mobile companies in the first quarter (Q-1) of 2012. Samsung occupied the number one position by shipping 93.5 million handsets and has Market share of around 25 % while Nokia attained 22.5 % market share. Apple on the other hand shipped 35.1 million units and retained 9.5 % market share.It is also noticed from the reports that Apple is also growing fast. Earlier Apple products were mainly used by countries like US , UK , CN , Australia etc but now Apple products are in demand all over the world.
