An undisputed leader in the mobile market since the mobile era began in the late 90’s; Nokia’s sales are dwindling due to the rise of Smartphones like Apple and Samsung. Nokia is trying very hard to fight with them with its Lumia range of Windows Phone Smartphones. But, one category where Nokia is hitherto leader since beginning is offering multifarious feature phones at an affordable price. To be relevant in the age of Smartphones, it has launched Asha series, which can be aptly called as Smart Feature Phone as it has a lot of features of Smartphone at the price of a feature phone. Asha 205: QWERTY gets economical

Nokia Asha 205 is candy bar QWERTY phone available in vibrant colours- Cyan, Pink, Orange, White, Magenta and featuring a 2.4 inch TFT display with resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and colour depth of 65 k colours. Its dimensions of 112.8 x 61.1 x 13 mm and weight of 94 g makes the phone very handy and pocketable. It has an internal memory of 64 MB, which can be further expanded by adding a microSD card up to 32 GB. It offers standard connectivity features like dual-SIM 2G network support (GPRS/ EDGE) and Bluetooth 2.1 with Slam feature allowing one-tap sending of files without even pairing the devices. It has a camera of VGA quality which gives average quality images of 640 x 480 pixels and videos of 176 x 144 pixels. In terms of apps, the phone comes with pre-loaded EA games, social networking apps like Facebook, Twitter, etc. A battery of 1020 mAh gives the phone a stand-by time of more than 800 hours and talk-time of 11 hours.

Asha 210: Whatsapp at a click of a button

Nokia Asha 210 takes on feature of Asha 205 and adds several niceties of its own. It features similar screen size of 2.4 inches as of Asha 205, while its dimensions are 111.5 x 60 x 11.8 mm and weigh 97.3 g. The phone has 32 MB RAM, 64 MB ROM with flexibility of expanding it to 32 GB via microSD card. It has dual-SIM network support for 2G, Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. It has a 2 MP camera with ability to capture 1600 x 1200 pixel images and 176 x 144 pixel videos. The unique proposition of this phone is that it’s the first phone in the world with a dedicated Whatsapp button. Other social networking apps, games which were present in Asha 205 are available in it as well. It’s fuelled by a Li-ion battery of 1200 mAh giving stand-by time of 1100 hours and talk-time of up to 12 hours.

Asha 306: Power of touch at fraction of price

Asha 306 sports a 3 inch resistive touchscreen with resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and colour depth of 65 k colours. The dimensions of 110.3 x 53.8 x 12.8 mm and weight of 96 g makes the device convenient to carry with choice of vivid colours such as Silver white, Red, Mid blue and Dark Grey. It has RAM of 32 MB and internal storage of 64 MB, which can be further expanded up to 32 GB through microSD card. For connectivity, it has ability to connect to 2G networks, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.1. The camera capabilities of its 2 MP sensor are similar to Asha 210. The OS of Asha 306 comes with several Social Networking apps, Nokia Maps, and more. It has a Li-ion battery of 1104 mAh capacity giving stand-by time of up to 600 hours and talk-time of up to 14 hours.

Asha 308: Experience the smooth touch


Nokia Asha 308 flaunts a 3 inch resistive touchscreen which is scratch-resistant and offers similar resolution as of Asha 306. The phone’s Black and Golden colour gives it a classy look and dimensions of 109.9 x 54 x 13 mm with weight of 104 g makes it easy to hold in hands. It has 64 MB RAM, 128 MB ROM expandable up to 32 GB using microSD card. It has 2G dual-SIM connectivity option with one hot-swappable SIM (replacing SIM without removing the battery and restarting the phone) and Bluetooth 3.0. In terms of camera, it has 2 MP sensor recording images at 1600 x 1200 pixels and video at 176 x 144 pixels @13 fps. It supports all the useful apps present in Asha series. It’s powered by a battery of 1110 mAh which gives it stand-by time of up to 600 hours and talk-time of 17 hours.
